South Korea's Annual Mud Festival was a blast
27 July 2010
I was never a fan of mud, but I was at the Mud Festival in Daecheon Beach, about an hour south from Seoul. There were water slides, pools, baths, and people covered with mud.
I went to Mud Prison just for fun. If you were not covered with mud, people will take you to Mud Prison and throw mud at you until you turn brown.
Boryeong Mud comes from the beach where marine animals such as crabs, water birds and shrimp nourish the sand. Sea shells and salt give the sand minerals which are beneficial to the skin. This mud is sold in sunscreens, lotions, facial masks, body masks and make-up.
This festival is held annually by the beach, so it's easy to wash off the mud in the ocean!
